Dr Shamir Ghumra is a respected leader in sustainability and ESG strategy, with an Engineering Doctorate from Loughborough University and recognition as a Chartered Environmentalist. His career spans environmental performance, social value, and responsible business across the built-environment sector.

He serves as Executive Director of Responsible Business at NHS Property Services, overseeing ESG, technical compliance, CSR, health & safety, energy, environment, and EDI. His work shapes the sustainability direction of one of the UK’s largest property estates and earned him a place on the ENDS Power List in 2025.
Dr Ghumra is also Chair of the Board at the Institute of Sustainability & Environmental Professionals (ISEP) and a Visiting Professor at Loughborough University. He previously held senior roles at BRE, helping steer global sustainability standards such as BREEAM.
